When you post a request you choose text or video reviews and how many reviewers you want; your credits are held in escrow and paid out to reviewers as their feedback is accepted. Is BetaBloom free to start?
Yes. Creating an account and browsing the community is free, and new members get a welcome bonus of ✦100 credits — enough to post your first text feedback request at no cost. You earn more credits by reviewing other founders' products, so you can keep using BetaBloom without ever paying. How do I request feedback on my product?
Post a request from the request page. You pick the format — a written text review (✦100 per reviewer) or a recorded video walkthrough (✦500 per reviewer) — write a short ask describing what you want feedback on, and choose how many reviewers you want (up to 10). The total is held in escrow when you post, and each reviewer's share is released as their review is accepted. If a slot goes unfilled it's automatically refunded to you after 7 days, and you can also reclaim unfilled slots yourself at any time — you're never charged for feedback you don't receive.
How do reviewers earn credits?
Head to the Give Feedback queue, claim an open request, try the product, and submit your review before the claim window closes. When the founder accepts your feedback you're paid the reviewer reward — ✦80 for a text review and ✦400 for a video review. If a founder doesn't respond, the review auto-finalizes and pays out after 5 days, so quality work always gets rewarded. Those earned credits are yours to spend requesting feedback on your own product.
How does the credit economy work?
Credits (✦) are the currency of the marketplace. A founder pays ✦100 per reviewer for a text review or ✦500 for a video review; the reviewer earns ✦80 and ✦400 respectively, with BetaBloom keeping a 20% platform fee to run the marketplace. New members start with a ✦100 welcome bonus, and you earn ✦200 when someone you refer publishes their first product. Escrowed credits are released to reviewers when their work is accepted (or auto-finalizes after 5 days), and unfilled requests are refunded after 7 days.
Can I buy credits instead of earning them?
Yes. If you'd rather not grind for credits, you can buy one-time credit packs (starting at $19) from your settings — a fast way to fund several requests at once. There's also BetaBloom Pro ($99/month), which grants ✦1500 credits every month plus marketplace perks: priority placement in the reviewer queue and a Pro badge on your requests. Buying credits is always optional — you can run entirely on credits you earn by reviewing.
How does visibility and priority work — will my request get seen?
Requests are fulfilled through a shared reviewer queue rather than a leaderboard, so every open request gets worked through. The queue order is simple and predictable: Pro members' requests come first, video requests are favored over text, and within each group older requests are served first — so nothing gets stuck. There's no per-view credit charge and no ranking by balance — you pay for the reviews you receive, not for exposure.
